Time to start using the blog again!
alright, time for some serious business. just want to put this out there, but Mark (the recording guy) is still waiting for us to come back and finish up, so we need to get our act back together. it's time for this little hiatus to come to an end. comment with your schedules of availability so we can start organizing more practices. i'd like to start getting stuff organized ahead of time.

i am bored and cannot sleep :P
ok, since nick's been writing more thrashy stuff (as i described it, "melodic exodus") i think we should work on some thrashy covers such as...:
either "Welcome To Hell" or "In League With Satan"-Venom
"Domination"-Pantera
"Thou Shall Not Fear"-Lazarus AD
"The Art of Partying"-Municipal Waste
"Refuse/Resit"-Sepultura
"Sanctuary"-Cavelera Conspiracy
i've been working on not having the gurgly "depraved toilet poop man" growling and more of a hacking yell like max cavelera or joel grind

Band Practice 6/9/09 and covers
Okay, first things first, i think we should have band practice tomorrow. if you guys can't i have wednesday off too, but thats it for like the next two weeks. this thursday my shift doesn't start until 6, so thats an option too.
on another note, i think we need to add some more quick and easy covers to our setlist in order to expand our repetoire. as soon as marshall gets the lyrics down, we're going to go in and finish the recording, and once thats done, we can play some shows to support it. its already too late for this month's warming house show, but i think we can make it our goal to be ready for next month's.
so, some nice, easy songs that i may or may not already know and that can probably be refitted with growling.
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Trust - Megadeth
Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Children of the Damned - Iron Maiden

Band Practice 5/29
This friday, i have to work from 6 to 9, so i can go, but i need to leave by 5:15. and it will be pretty short if we waste all of our time picking stuff up from our houses, so we need to get whatever stuff we need over to jack's house beforehand. i'll get devin's mic and probably bring my guitar over on thursday night. marshall, you don't have to bring your guitar, but bring it if you can. danny, i know you don't read the blog, even though i'm pretty sure your parents do, but you need to get your stuff over there too. jack, all you have to do is make sure you don't give your parents any reason to get mad at you on friday by telling them in advance. also, if your dad could give us a ride, that would be great.
we might be able to do sunday too

Band Practice 5/15 and 5/16
This Friday's band practice will be the first in a few weeks. I have a bunch of new riffs and song ideas and whatever, so we'll check those out as well as teach marshall the lyrics to Ill-Bred. Marshall, that means you need to be there. on saturday, i get off work at three, so we should have another practice right after that. then, if we finish all we need to get done before the vocal recording session, we could go on sunday. and yes, jack, both you and danny have to be there. i don't know if mark started mixing the instrument tracks or not yet, but we all need to be there to give input on what we want it to sound like.

Recording Session 3 VOCALS 5/3/09
Okay, its time to bring in Marshall. Since Jack has a drum lesson on saturday and he still wants to re-do poisoned, we'll move it to sunday again. same time, about 9 in the morning, except we'll have an extra person in the car.
Marshall, i know you get these emails, so post up some comments to inform us of your availability. i'll email you the lyrics and our rough tracks for you to practice to. we actually have lyrics this time around.

Recording Session 2 (4/26/09)
I called Mark and rescheduled the recording for Sunday in order to compensate for Jack's test and Danny's trip to great america. The earlier the better, so right now the plan is to get on the road by 9:30. My mom has already agreed to pick both of you up give us a ride there and back.
I also added our parents the the blog email list in an attempt to keep them informed of our plans so that they don't scheduled conflicting events. Jack, I don't have your parents' emails, so if you could add them yourself that would be great.

Official Recording Schedule
Our previous "schedule" was non-existent, so from now on, just figure that we'll be recording every saturday starting at noon and the time at which we leave is flexible. we need to get down to business on this ep. tell your parents about our plans so that you can encourage them to refrain from scheduling over our recording time. there will be no exceptions for missing sessions unless you let me know ahead of time. and no skipping for pre-releases, magic tournaments, etc. once we get all the instrument tracks down, we'll give marshall a call.
This saturday is set in stone. My mom is going to give us a ride there and back and we'll probably be there until about six unless anyone has any objection to staying later. we'll be recording at least one more drum track (day after day), and then as many guitar and bass tracks as possible for each of the songs. i'm predicting we'll be able to get at least one song totally finished, and a couple close to completion.
Make sure to get you parents on board.

I Found Someone to Record Us
During my uncle's birthday party, i discovered that one of my aunt's friends has some pretty awesome equipment and was eager to hear us play. He has a top of the line electric drum kit for recording, and its basically the best we'll ever get. He heard me playing guitar at my aunt and uncle's house a while back, and he's really interested in the band. I think recording with him would be a great opportunity and we should take advantage of it. He said he wants at least a few weeks to master his recording programs and get everything all set for the highest quality recording possible.

The show is this weekend
Yeah, just a reminder. its at my house, email me if you don't know the address, and it costs five bucks. it starts at 6 and will end well before turnabout, so it won't get in the way of your "dancing." there will be food of sorts, but bring your own if you want. it will be very loud, so bring earplugs if you don't want to wreck your ears. we're going to be playing our usual set and some new songs too, so don't miss it.
Oh, and this is also Marshall's last performance with Marrow. He's quitting the band because he's his girlfriend doesn't like us.

Cover Ideas
its time to actually make use of this blog. post up some quick and easy cover ideas. we should plan on having ten or so, just so we can have enough stuff to play to fill up a set. we got a good reaction at the warming house, but we had the shortest set out of all the other bands. we need to expand our repertoire. I'll start up the list again. lets just try to get as many ideas up there as possible instead of limiting ourselves like last time.

Show Tomorrow!
for anyone that wants to help set up or be roadies or whatever, come at six. we have the second slot, so we'll be going on at about 7:35. we're planning to set up the drums as soon as we get there, and then just put them off to the side or something, but when its time for us to play, we'll need help setting it back up on the little stage/platform like thing.
also, if you come early, you might not have to pay. not promising anything though.

Warming House Show Update
Okay, we're in, but we still need to go and sign the contract. i'm guessing its some sort of thing to keep us from starting mosh pits or breaking stuff or whatever. for anyone that wants to come, its on the 30th and its located near the intersection of lake and ridge, right by the police station. i'm pretty sure its gonna be five bucks to get in.
we're actually going to play our new songs this time. hoorayz

The Warming House Show
okay, i finally called the warming house again. the show is on the 30th and i gave them all of our information and stuff. i am still awaiting a call back, but just expect us to be signed up. i don't see any reason why they wouldn't accept us, but just know that it isn't 100% yet.

Practice on saturday the 10th
The title says it all. i would have just waited until i got back to inform you in person, but i'm bored and there hasn't been a new post for a while. Practice starts at one, according to Jack, and we need to actually practice. i don't know about you guys, but i've been in idaho/wyoming for the past week, so i haven't been able to practice. I did get powertab to work on my virtual windows though, so i've been fuddling around with that for a while. thats pretty much it.
